Emily Dickinson

It is nearing summertime and this is an easy poem for you to memorize and help the kids memorize. Memorization is good for the kids and brain.

THE BEE is not afraid of me,
I know the butterfly;
The pretty people in the woods
Receive me cordially.

The brooks laugh louder when I come, 5
The breezes madder play.
Wherefore, mine eyes, thy silver mists?
Wherefore, O summer’s day?
