I loved being a puppy raiser for the Seeing Eye. Our family's main job was socialization. It is the most important. I can't stress puppy socialization enough. Dogs need to get out and experience different places, levels, visual distractions, and other dogs! I am not a crazy dog person. Dogs need boundaries (like kids) or else they do not become good dogs. I haven't given my kids enough boundaries, but they managed to turn out to be amazing people. But, the dogs. Crave constancy. Think of a dog as a child with Aspergers syndrome, or autism.
